Chair's Welcome 

On behalf of the Academy Committee, I am delighted to welcome you to Eastrop Infant School & Nursery.

In partnership with Southfield Junior School, Eastrop is one of the founding schools of Grove Learning Trust; a multi-academy trust located here in Highworth. Click here to visit Grove Learning Trust's website.

As an Academy Committee we work in close contact with our fellow school in the trust, Southfield Junior School; both schools having their own Academy Committees. We work hard to oversee important areas of Eastrop's day to day running such as safeguarding,  standards & performance, curriculum and much more. This includes ensuring accountability and working alongside the school's senior leaders in promoting excellence in education in a safe and welcoming environment. 

The role of the Academy Committee at Eastrop is to ensure the school's statutory obligations are met as well as reviewing and monitoring objectives, planning for the future and making sure the vision for the school is both challenging and realistic. It is the responsibility of the Headteacher to oversee the daily running of the school, however, it is the role of the Academy Committee to support and strengthen the Headteacher's leadership, and to hold them accountable for the performance of children and staff.

The school's academy committee share the same ambition as school leaders in wanting all pupils to succeed. The members of the academy committee understand , and fulfil, their role well in keeping children safe.
